Six new temple presidents have been called by the First Presidency, with their wives called as matrons. They will begin service in November.
Edward Jeffs Brandt, 70, Hillcrest 2nd Ward, Sandy Utah Hillcrest Stake, called as president of the Columbus Ohio Temple, succeeding President Richard N. Christensen. President Brandt's wife, Carol Bartschi Brandt, will serve as temple matron. Serving as a stake president's counselor, he has previously served as bishop, bishop's counselor, high priests group leader and gospel doctrine teacher. Director of the Church Correlation Department, he was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Einar Erik and Alice Jeffs Brandt.
Sister Brandt serves as a visiting teaching supervisor and as an ordinance worker in the Draper Utah Temple. She has served as a ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president and gospel doctrine teacher. She was born in Georgetown, Idaho, to George Edgar and Berniece Bacon Bartschi.
W. Blair Garff, 68, Westchester 1st Ward, Westchester New York Stake, called as president of the Manhattan New York Temple, succeeding President William J. Frost. President Garff's wife, Suzanne Jacob Garff, will serve as temple matron. Serving as a Family Services missionary, he has served as president of the Nigeria Enugu Mission, mission president's counselor, district president, bishop, bishop's counselor and high councilor. Retired from Morgan Stanley Investment Management sales, he was born in San Francisco, Calif., to Wayne Brimhall and Jeanette Parry Garff.
Sister Garff serves with her husband as a Family Services missionary and previously served with him as he presided over the Nigeria Enugu Mission. She has also served as a stake Young Women president, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, stake Young Women camp director, seminary teacher and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph Irvin and Lucille Powelson Jacob.
David Thomas Halversen, 65, Olympia Ward, Orlando Florida South Stake, called as president of the Orlando Florida Temple, succeeding President Boyd P. Hoglund. President Halversen's wife, Lana Kay Stephens Halversen, will serve as temple matron. Serving as a stake president, he has served as a bishop, stake Young Men president, high priests group leader and high councilor. Retired as Group President of Americas, Tupperware Corporation, he was born in Salinas, Calif., to Andrew Reed and Luana Packer Halversen.
Sister Halversen serves as a counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency. She has served as a ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president's counselor, stake Public Affairs director, gospel doctrine teacher and as a temple ordinance worker. She was born in Ogden, Utah, to Wilford and Ethel Fae Murdock Stephens.
Robert Carter Packard, 73, Allen 2nd Ward, Allen Texas Stake, called as president of the Dallas Texas Temple, succeeding President Duane B. Gerrard. President Packard's wife, Talmadge Reyburn Meredith Packard, will serve as temple matron. Serving as a senior missionary couple in the Armenia Yerevan Mission, he has served as stake president, bishop, mission president's counselor and as a temple ordinance worker. A retired orthodontist and owner of Apple Orthodontix, he was born in Meridian, Idaho, to Forrest Leroy and Esther Carter Packard.
Sister Packard, serving with her husband as a senior missionary couple in the Armenia Yerevan Mission, has served as a ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary president, ward Family History consultant, Temple Preparation teacher and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Hoges Chapel, Va., to Homer Richard and Geraldine Smith Meredith.
Phillip Gordon Pulsipher, 66, Sunset 1st Ward, St. George Utah Sunset Stake, called as president of the Detroit Michigan Temple, succeeding President William J. Schilling. President Pulsipher's wife, Margaret Kay Ellis Pulsipher, will serve as temple matron. Serving as a high councilor and missionary training coordinator, he has served as president of the Micronesia Guam Mission, stake president, bishop and elders quorum president. A retired project manager, he was born in Ogden, Utah, to Archie Wells and Georgia Christensen Pulsipher.

Douglas Max Robinson, 61, Torrey Ward, Loa Utah Stake, called as president of the Halifax Nova Scotia Temple, succeeding President Lynn H. Blake. President Robinson's wife, Carol Ann Hatch Robinson, will serve as temple matron. Serving as a high priests group instructor, he has served as counselor in the Aba Nigeria Temple. He has also served as a stake president's counselor, bishop, high priests group leader and high councilor. A retired superintendent for the Division of Wildlife Resources, State of Utah, he was born in Tucson, Ariz., to Max Edward and Eva Crandall Robinson.
Sister Robinson, serving as a visiting teacher, has served as an assistant to the matron of the Aba Nigeria Temple, stake Relief Society president, ward Relief Society president and counselor, ward Young Women president and counselor and Sunday School teacher.
